To promote the release of his book 'Sunday Special', debut of Australian born author Michael Reynolds, and to celebrate the city in which the author lives and works, Optimystic Research presents two “happenings” in December, 2002. The author and organisers hope to garner the interest of the English-speaking community in Rome, and to keep it via a series of initiatives and future events.

Night 1: Lettere Caffe, Trastevere
Wednesday, 18 December, 8:00 pm
This well-known literary cafe and popular haunt for foreigners living in Rome plays host to the first Sunday Special night. The author will perform excerpts from the book, accompanied by live music and a digital exhibition by Troy .

Night 2: Izgud, Testaccio

Sunday, 22 December, 6:00 pm
A larger venue and a larger production. Michael Reynolds performs two complete stories from Sunday Special, accompanied by live “sound installation” by embrio.net, a projection of a short film featuring the work of Troy, followed by aperitifs.

Bookstores
Sunday Special is available at The Corner Bookstore (via del Moro, Trastevere), Lettere Caffe’ (via di san Francesco a Ripa, Trastevere), Anglo American Bookstore (via della Vita, P.zza di Spagna), and other selected bookstores throughout Rome.

And Then…
We hope to sustain the wave of energy we have created with this project, to organise and promote future events that cater to the English-speaking community in Rome.

Troy Henriksen is currently one of the most successful painters living in Paris. Eighteen of his drawings appear between the covers of Sunday Special. He is represented in Paris by GalerieW
